Natural Bridge in Porto Colom, Majorca, Balearic Islands (Spain)

Mallorca, terra estimada,
que fa tants d’anys que jo trepig,
si no ets ma pàtria, Mallorca,
com si ho fossis jo t’estim.
...
Mallorca, beloved land,
which I have been treading for so many years,
if you are not my homeland, Mallorca,
as if you were I love you.

Improvised bridge in the Dominican Republic

Palm-tree: single-legged giant,
topping other trees,
peering at the firmament -
It longs to pierce the black cloud-ceiling
and fly away, away,
if only it had wings.

The tree seems to express its wish
in the tossing of its head:
its fronds heave and swish -
It thinks, Maybe my leaves are feathers,
and nothing stops me now
from rising on their flutter.

Roman Bridge in the Ciudad Encantada (Enchanted City) of Cuenca (Spain)

Jorao Bridge or Devil Bridge near Santander, Cantabria (Spain)
