Old Bridge over the Werra River in Hannoversch Munden, Lower Saxony (Germany)

Where Werra and Fulda kiss,
you have to atone for her name.
And here, through this kiss ,
the Weser River is created, German
all the way to the sea

Bridge to the Kurpark over the Ilmenau River in Bad Bevensen, Lower Saxony (Germany)

"I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, 'Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.'"

Lewis Carrol

Bridge over the Oker Reservoir near Neu Schulenberg, Lower Saxony (Germany)

Spectacular discovery in the Harz Mountains! A long-forgotten village has now reappeared after almost 70 years - in the truest sense of the word! Because the village of Unterschulenberg in the Harz Mountains had to make way for the construction of the Okertalsperre in 1954 and disappeared under meters of water. Now it's back. In 1954, around 300 residents were resettled in Neu-Schulenberg, further up the hill, the village buildings were demolished down to the foundations, and the village was flooded with water. Nothing was to be seen of Unterschulenberg.

Bridge over the Hämelschenburg Castle's moat in Emmerthal, Lower Saxony (Germany)

Ein Schloss bezaubert dich, dein Blick
verharrt, du fällst im Nu ins Staunen.
Kein Ritter fand dort Ruhm und Glück,
kein Schlossgeist ängstigte mit Raunen.

A castle enchants you, your gaze
lingers, you are amazed in no time.
No knight found fame and fortune there,
no ghost of the castle scared with murmurs.

Poem Das Schloss
Ingo Baumgartner
