A captured pirate was housed in the rooms of the palace of Luarca, where the Lord's beautiful daughter took care to heal their serious injuries. In his hours of suffering the pirate fell in love with the girl. The beautiful Asturian lady also fell in love with the prisoner. They confessed love to each other and decided to run away together, arranging to meet one night at the seashore. When her father was sleeping the girl left the palace and arrived to the pier where she waited for the pirate's ship, that was anchored near the shore. But the father was notified of the cheat and surprised the lovers when they were kissing passionately. He, full of anger raised his sword and with a single blow chopped the head of the two lovers while their bodies remained forever embraced. In the place where the bodies fell, a bridge was built and it is called today "The bridge of the Kiss"
