Monreal Viaduct in Sóller, Majorca, Balearic Islands (Spain)
A legend tells that in the old times Majorca and Menorca were united by an arm of land. The Devil built a sanctuary up there mostly for the demos to hold their parties and meetings. But one day, God tired of so much impudence and conspiracy sank the arm of land in the deep sea. According to the local fishermen, on the nights of rough seas, in the Strait of Menorca, the most difficult place for navigation around the islands, there is a reddish flow on the bottom of the sea.
