Devil's Bridge over the Gueterello River in Schillache (Italy)

A shepeherd, tired of rebuilding the bridge he daily crossed and was destroyed by floods, made a pact with the devil; the devil promised to build a bridge that could never be taken by the water, exchanged for the soul of the first to step on the new bridge. Surely the first to go would be the shepherd, he built the bridge and waited for his reward. Once built, the shepherd, called the dog that was on the other side. The dog hearing the call of his master, crossed the bridge and went to join him in the race. The devil , to be mocked, got angry and kicked the bridge with the intent of throwing it to the ground but did not move . Even today you can see a huge hole in the side of the bridge.
