Singing Bridge over the Kentucky River in Frankfort, Kentucky (United States)

Frankfort artist wants to make Frankfort’s ‘Singing Bridge’ actually sing. Documentarian and musician Joanna Hay is proposing the addition of outdoor speakers at three sites in the city, including that portion of U.S. 60 over the Kentucky River commonly referred to as the “Singing Bridge” due to the hum generated by passing cars. Titled “Rivers That Talk, Bridges That Sing,” the installation would be a “meditative, reflective soundscape that weaves chords, tones and words” into a composition honoring the Kentucky River’s role in the Frankfort community.
