Legend tells that there is an underground passage linking the county palace of Monforte with the church of San Vicente. That passage was transited by an abbot of the monastery of San Vicente during an absence of Count de Lemos to maintain an affair with his daughter. When the count learned what was happening, invited the abbot to a heavy meal. When Count ordered the desserts, a servant brought a crown of red-hot iron. The Count crowned the abbot with it, causing his death.
